NHL 17: Balance Between Arcade & Simulation Sliders – Updated 9/27

September 10, 2016 Leave a comment

*Updated Sliders January 2017: NHL 17 January 2017 Sliders

What’s up people, if you’re playing NHL 17 and need some good sliders to play against the CPU, these might be good for you. In the video I have the game speed at 2/6, but the game plays just as well if you set it to 1/6. I’m big with player movement and I feel the game plays smooth with these as well as reduces the cheesing by the CPU. I like balance between great game play and realism, and sometimes you have to have a little arcade in the mix to enjoy it.

Difficulty is set a Pro level with5 minute Periods. I normally play 10 mins, but I want to get a lot of games in with my EA Access trial. The slider set is in the first video below along with an epic game I had between the Red Wings and Panthers, which finished in a shoot out. NBA Live 16: Slider Set 3 + EA Broadcast Cam Recommended

February 8, 2016 Leave a comment

EA SPORTS™ NBA LIVE 16 (4)

These sliders are good enough for All-Star & Superstar difficulty. Sliders are the same for both CPU and User unless stated other wise. Also I recommend you play this game on the EA broadcast camera, the game feels like it was built to just play on this camera angle, to me, everything plays much much better compared to any other camera angle.  Give it a try.

NOTE: With these sliders, you have to play team oriented basketball (run plays) and know who’s on the floor or you’ll end up shooting a low percentage. Also watch the +/- stat in the roster menu during the game, it will help you know who’s being productive and vice versa.

NBA Live 16: 2nd Realistic Sliders For Game Play- Post Patch 2

December 31, 2015 Leave a comment

Spent two weeks with these sliders, only adjusting a few and felt these were the ones I was more comfortable with. I was looking for balance in free throw shooting, low points in the paint so that the CPU will have more mid-range shots, more turnovers, and reasonable shooting percentages. With this slider set, it will test how good your defense is because the CPU will draw fouls on you, hit tough shots, and run their offense through the hot hand. You will be forced to use your time outs at times because the CPU will go on runs, and you will go on runs. I’ve beaten the CPU by 15+ and I lost by 15+ points. It also depends on the matchups also. If you’re playing with the Lakers, expect to be down and work your way up, or if you’re the Spurs, expect to be up, and potentially give up leads. These sliders, like my last set makes sure you run plays down the floor, even if it’s simple screen and rolls. You simply can’t just go down the court and score at will with these sliders, although there are time (just like in the real NBA) where you can come down the court, get one good pass, and score. I made sure you have to use the play calling system vs the CPU to be successful. If you feel the CPU is getting open on too many screens, they are running plays to perfection, and hitting you with double screens down low, or hitting you with aggressive screens. You will have to use the player switch button and pick your poison if you don’t have the automatic switch enabled. Have fun, and let me know what you think of my sliders:

*Jostle Vs. Blown-by, this slider turned down helps reduce the sliding in the game. If you turn it down to 20-30, players will have more grip on the court. Harder to get in the paint off the dribble, but the usage of spacing on offense and defense is way better. Give it a try

NBA Live 16: Realistic Sliders For Game Play + Video Added

EA SPORTS™ NBA LIVE 16

New Set: NBA Live 16: 2nd Realistic Sliders For Game Play- Post Patch 2

Over the last few weeks I’ve been playing with the majority of the sliders turned up to the max. There was a few things that bothered me, the shooting % was way too high (obviously), there were no turnovers, CPU was able to rip you off the dribble, but you couldn’t do it, so I started to experiment with them by starting them on the max instead of 50/50. I was focused on how I can get realistic results (stats) without compromising the fun aspect . I usually play 8 minute quarters, and with a lot of the shooting settings set between 50-70, I was scoring 110 points with ease, sometimes after 3 quarters. I wanted to reduce that shooting percentage, to help increase the rebounding numbers, because sometimes the rebounding numbers would just be in the 20’s, that’s not realistic at all, especially for 8 minute quarters.

I set the majority of the sliders to 100 to “activate” everything, and adjusted them (after multiple games with different teams) accordingly. in 8 minute quarters, I’ve had competitive games with the CPU, one went into OT, and I didn’t even hit 100 points in 5 quarters, and the shooting %’s were down in the low 40’s, and in the bad games (which I lost) I actually shot in the 30’s. Some CPU teams will hit you with a defensive blitz, but with these sliders, it will teach you how to play better to overcome that. There are times where you’re team is going to get HOT, and you’ll shoot 60% and the CPU will shoot about 40%, but by the end of the game, it all balances out. so if you shoot 60% in the first half, the 2nd half, you will have to be more reliant on your defense, because you will cool off. I was up 20 with the Raptors at home vs OKC, they came back and took the lead, but I had to grind them out in the 4th by playing smart, because with these sliders it doesn’t make it easy to score at will. Having the low shooting sliders teaches you to run offense and be patient with the ball, and over the last few days with these sliders, I honestly been having fun with this game. I’m actually getting pissed off when I miss shots I should be making, but overall, it’s making me a better overall player in NBA Live 16. The game played this way really shows that you can gain and lose momentum in one game, and losing it can really cost you if you don’t play smart. Also note, I put the shooting to ratings only. Kept the Free throw shooting at Ratings and Skill (it’s up to you if you want to change them). Difficulty Level: All-Star.**

*The steal sliders, I had to bring it down to the 30’s , when I lowered it, I started to actually get steals off the ball

**IF you don’t want a challenge vs the CPU, I don’t recommend you play with these sliders. If you want to have fun, fast paced high scoring games, I recommend just turning up the sliders to 100 max on all of them, shooting between 60-80. There’s a variety of styles you can play with Live to make it competitive and all out fun, these sliders are for the people who want playoff, every possession matters type battles with the CPU.
